About
Sun Zu is a Los Angeles based recording artist from Florida specializing in Psychedelic Jazz and Experimental Hip Hop. He writes, produces, and arranges everything himself alongside a large live band bringing the surreal sound to life. Artists who inspire Sun Zu the most are Flying Lotus, Kendrick Lamar, D’Angelo, Sun Ra, Curtis Mayfield, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Kamasi Washington. What separates Sun Zu from other acts is his commanding vocal presence, cerebral lyricism and wordplay, and the lush experimental jazz fusion production that would usually be expected on something like an Alice Coltrane record. Set to release his debut studio album “Of a Tatted Buddha” on all streaming services October 31st, 2025, his ultimate goal is to utilize music to make a positive impact on people who resonate with darker real world subject matter.
